Kambove Mining SAS (KMS), a second-tier subsidiary of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), recently handed over a standardized farm warehouse it has fully funded and built and donated agricultural supplies to Mitumba community in Kambove town, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

A ceremony was held on Sept. 20 local time to mark the handover of the building and agricultural supplies, filling the fields of Mitumba with joy and hope while illustrating a concrete step of KMS in fulfilling its commitment to "empowering agriculture and promoting shared development."

The newly built warehouse has a capacity sufficient to meet the community's storage needs throughout the entire maize production cycle for 55 hectares of farmland.

Equipped with a 12.65-meter by 6.65-meter purpose-built warehouse, sanitary facilities, and a complete water supply system, the building is designed to ensure the safe and standardized storage of agricultural materials and to provide a temporary "harbor" for agricultural products during the harvest season.

Through standardized warehouse management, Mitumba community is developing a new agricultural supplies management model featuring unified procurement, standardized storage, and shared use, aiming to turn the expectation of high yields and bountiful harvests into reality.

By combining material support with technical assistance, KMS has made its aid both practical and far-reaching.

Based on local agricultural needs, the company has donated premium fertilizers, high-yield seeds, eco-friendly pesticides, and essential tools to Mitumba community, and deployed two senior agricultural experts to provide hands-on, full-cycle guidance to local farmers.

The donation included about 1.38 tonnes of maize seeds, 1.5 tonnes of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK) compound fertilizers, 11 tonnes of urea, 300 bottles of herbicides, 290 bottles of fungicides, and 120 of each type of farming tool, such as hoes and machetes, providing crops with a comprehensive "nutritional package."

To further empower local agriculture, KMS assigned two senior agricultural experts to work on site, offering practical guidance to local farmers — from soil improvement and seed selection before planting to pest and disease management, water and fertilizer management during growth, and proper, efficient harvesting and storage techniques during the harvest season.

This comprehensive assistance approach is expected to help local farmers "plant well, manage smartly, and harvest abundantly," enabling villagers to not only grow crops well but also achieve better productivity and income.

Committed to "sharing the sunshine of development with local communities and nourishing the hope of a brighter future with friendship," KMS has, with the farm warehouse and agricultural supplies as a starting point, built a bridge of shared development and win-win results through sustained investment in resources and expertise.

While contributing to rural revitalization in Kambove, the social responsibility endeavor of KMS is considered a vivid testament to the friendship and cooperation between China and the DRC.

Through concrete actions, KMS has been translating its strong sense of responsibility and original aspiration into care and support for local communities.

With every effort to promote shared growth and every act of assistance, the company has consolidated its friendly ties with the local communities and worked hand in hand with the local people toward a more beautiful future.
